Keurig Dr Pepper Canada Shares Canadian Contribution to Global ESG Progress
MONTRÉAL, QC — July 21, 2025, Keurig Dr Pepper Canada (KDP Canada) has unveiled its 2024 Impact Highlights and Canadian Initiatives brochure, capturing the company’s most recent advances in environmental, social and governance (ESG) performance across its Canadian operations. Reflecting how KDP’s global purpose — Drink Well. Do Good. — is being translated into action at the market level, this document profiles the tangible outcomes achieved across the Canadian business and within the communities it serves. The launch of this Canadian brochure complements the recent release of the enterprise-wide 2024 Impact Report (available in English only), which outlines broader achievements delivered across Keurig Dr Pepper’s global network.
As Keurig Dr Pepper Canada’s first standalone disclosure of this nature, the 2024 Impact Highlights and Canadian Initiatives brochure offers a targeted perspective on progress delivered across six of the seven strategic pillars that underpin the company’s global KDP Impact agenda: Climate & Nature Action; Water Use & Stewardship; Packaging & Circular Economy; Human Rights, Responsible Sourcing & Supply Chain Livelihoods; Consumer Health & Well-Being; and Employee Health, Safety & Well Being.
“The 2024 Impact Highlights brochure reflects the tangible results of the initiatives and partnerships we’ve deployed to drive meaningful, measurable progress and impact across our Canadian operations,” said Cynthia Shanks, Senior Director, Corporate Affairs, Keurig Dr Pepper Canada. “As we continue to advance our ESG ambition, these initiatives position our business to create long-term value for customers, communities and partners while contributing to the company’s global purpose, Drink Well. Do Good.”
Notable progress from KDP Canada’s 2024 Report includes:
- Advancing Climate and Nature Action: KDP Canada expanded its electric vehicle fleet to 45 units, representing nearly 20% of its Canadian fleet, contributing to an estimated 8% reduction in fleet-related GHG emissions in 2024. The business unit also advanced voluntary carbon offsetting, purchasing 2,841 carbon credits through ECOTIERRA to support sustainable agroforestry projects and 283 educational carbon credits through Carbone Scol’ERE to promote climate education among Quebec youth. In partnership with RGC Coffee, we also supported regenerative agriculture projects that aim to improve the economic and climate resilience of farmers across our supply chains in Colombia, Honduras and Peru. Building on that success story, KDP Canada decided in 2025 to step in with our iconic brand Van Houtte and reinforce our partnership with RGC Coffee by providing additional support to the Todos Al Agua program unlocking additional farm renovations and training for young farmers (18-35 years old).
- Strengthening Packaging Circularity: KDP Canada secured acceptance of K-Cup® pods into municipal curbside recycling programs in Quebec (2025) and Ontario (2026), marking a key milestone in our efforts to support greater circularity and improve the end-of-life management of our packaging. The company also continued to contribute to the advancement of industry-wide solutions as a founding member of the Circular Plastics Taskforce.
- Partnering for improved access to water: KDP Canada completed Phase 1 of the Indigenous Water Allyship Program in collaboration with the One Drop Foundation, directly engaging Indigenous youth and reaching more than 120,000 Canadians through community-based water stewardship education and leadership programs.
- Driving Responsible Sourcing and Supply Chain Livelihoods: KDP Canada maintained 100% responsible sourcing of coffee[1] and cocoa in 2024. In that same year, KDP and supplier RGC Coffee helped 330 Colombian coffee farmers increase their net household income by an average of 130% compared to 2021, through innovative purchasing practices and targeted investments in productivity and diversification. These results place participating households well above the living income benchmark defined by Verité. KDP Canada will continue this impact by taking on the long-standing corporate commitment to support the La Vereda impact sourcing pilot contributing to income stability, training, and long-term sustainability in key coffee-growing regions.
- Elevating Consumer Health and Well-Being: KDP Canada launched its Health & Well-being Strategy and Portfolio Management Approach, aligned to Canada’s upcoming front-of-pack labeling regulations effective in 2026. The strategy supports portfolio transformation through nutritional targets designed to increase the availability of products containing less than 15% of the daily value for sugar, sodium, and saturated fat.
- Investing in Employees Health & Well-Being: KDP Canada employees volunteered 4,043 hours supporting food security, crisis response, and local community programs. The company was also recognized again among Canada’s Top 100 Employers, Top Employers for Young People, and Montreal’s Top Employers.
As Keurig Dr Pepper Canada advances its sustainability ambition, the business unit remains focused on disciplined execution, continuous improvement and alignment with evolving Canadian regulatory frameworks, stakeholder expectations and market dynamics. While global enterprise goals continue to evolve, Canadian efforts are firmly anchored in partnership-driven climate action, responsible sourcing, packaging circularity, regenerative agriculture and community impact. KDP Canada’s leadership, packaging innovation and industry collaboration efforts will continue to advance the building of a circular economy, the deployment of well-designed Extended Producer Responsibility (EPR) frameworks and the implementation of performing recycling systems. Targeted water stewardship initiatives, such as the Indigenous Water Allyship program led by One Drop Foundation, remain a priority for local action and collaboration.
