Keurig® K-Cup® Pods Now Recyclable in All Blue Bins Across Quebec

Montréal, Quebec, May 29, 2025 – Keurig Canada Inc., operating as Keurig Dr Pepper Canada (“KDP Canada”), is proud to announce that its K-Cup® pods are now accepted for recycling in all municipalities across Quebec. This significant milestone makes Quebec the second province in Canada, following British Columbia in 2016, to integrate K-Cup® pods into the blue bin recycling program, offering their residents the convenience of having their pods collected right from the comfort of their homes.

“At KDP Canada, we are committed to supporting initiatives that improve product recovery and drive the building of a circular economy,” said Cynthia Shanks, Senior Director, Corporate Affairs at Keurig Dr Pepper Canada. “While K-Cup® pods were already accepted in most municipalities, their inclusion in Quebec’s modernized curbside recycling program, launched in January 2025, marked a significant milestone in our sustainability journey. We are dedicated to expanding this initiative nationwide, step by step.”

To simplify recycling, Keurig Dr Pepper Canada has redesigned the K-Cup® pod packaging by incorporating a new easy-peel tab. This innovation allows consumers to more easily empty the coffee grounds into the compost and responsibly dispose of the pods in the blue bin. Committed to eco-design, Keurig® encourages Quebecers to follow three simple steps to properly prepare their pods for recycling: 1) peel off the lid using the tab, 2) empty the coffee grounds into the compost, and 3) place the empty pod, including the filter, in the blue bin.
