KEURIG DR PEPPER CANADA AND IPSOS WIN NATIONAL RECOGNITION FOR BREAKTHROUGH CONSUMER INSIGHTS WORK IN NON-ALCOHOLIC BEVERAGES
Award-winning research combined data, cultural intelligence and consumer perspective to uncover new growth opportunities in Canada’s non-alcoholic beverage category
MISSISSAUGA, Ontario, July 21, 2026 — Canada Dry Mott’s Inc., doing business as Keurig Dr Pepper Canada (“KDP Canada”), is proud to announce that it has received the 2026 Canadian Research Insights Council’s (CRIC) Business Impact Award in CPG for a consumer insights project developed in collaboration with Ipsos. Focused on the category codes, cultural nuances, consumer expectations, and competition mapping that are shaping Canada’s non-alcoholic beverage market, the award-winning work combines multiple research lenses. Together, they deepen understanding of how Canadians discover, choose and experience non-alcoholic beverages for stronger brand strategy, packaging redesign and impact on shelf.

The award-winning project was led by Shillpa Khandelwaal,
Director, Consumer Insights and Innovation, and Richa
Bhayana, Manager, Consumer Insights. From left to right,

“This project has been one of the most energizing pieces of work our team has brought to life and business impact this research has driven” said Shillpa Khandelwaal, Director, Consumer Insights and Innovation at KDP Canada. “It gave us the clarity to move from observation to impact, translating rich consumer learning into a more intentional vision for notably Atypique®, Canada’s #1 mocktail brand. For a pillar that is already leading the category, the opportunity is not simply to follow where demand is going, but to help shape what the next generation of mocktail experiences can become.”
To bring the work to life, KDP Canada partnered with Ipsos, combining internal business ambition with external research expertise to design a study built for both cultural understanding and commercial action.
“Beverage choices are shaped by much more than flavour or format, which is why this project required a more layered research architecture,” said Charles Leech, SVP, Ipsos Understanding Unlimited. By layering commercial data, semiotic intelligence and consumer dialogue, the study captured the non-alcoholic beverage space as a living cultural system rather than a static set of preferences. That approach is particularly valuable in a category where taste, social context and personal identity increasingly converge, allowing the research to surface not only what people reach for, but what those choices are beginning to represent.”
The Canadian Research Insights Council’s Business Impact Award in CPG recognizes research initiatives that demonstrate exceptional relevance to business decision-making in the consumer packaged goods sector. By celebrating work that translates rigorous insights into tangible strategic value, the award underscores the growing importance of consumer research in helping organizations anticipate change, strengthen market relevance and shape growth with greater confidence.
